Dresden & Johnston

I know a lot of you are wondering why there’s not much talk about the specifics concerning our forthcoming album. I have had people ask me questions like, why hasn’t “That Day” been released as a single yet, is Keep Faith going to be on the album, are any of the instrumentals that we’ve done recently indicative of the sound that will be on our album… So here’s the real deal on what’s up…

We are working very hard on an album that is about 2/3 done and should be finished by the end of summer. Thus far there is no plan to include “Keep Faith” on our album. There will be video support for at least one single on the record, possibly more. No one has heard anything off the album other than a couple of remixes of “That Day” which leaked out earlier this year. The reason for this is because we’ve kept the songs for our album secret. Nobody but the vocalists and our management have heard any of the songs on our forthcoming album. Why? because we really want this record to be a surprise when it’s released. I can’t really go into too many specifics yet about who’s on the album or even the track titles but I will give you guys a few tidbits to chew on until we’re ready to do a proper press release.

First there is going to be at least one singer that was featured on the Gabriel & Dresden album on this record and their songs are spectacular. Second, I am singing on two songs on this record, one you already know is “That Day.” What you all don’t know is that the album version is so completely different from the remixes that leaked out earlier this year that it might as well be a different song. Lastly one of the featured vocalists on our album co wrote a song that was the #1 song in the US this year. I can’t say who this person is yet or which hit song they co wrote but needless to say that this artist brought something extremely special to our album both as a collaborator and a vocalist. Lastly the album so far is slated for 11 songs, 9 of which have vocals. Of course all of this is subject to change up until the album is actually in stores and online.

Ok that’s all I can really say for now but I promise we’ll give you a little more info as we get closer to finishing. However I just want to thank everyone for all the love and support. I am actually really moved by how much support we’ve had considering how quiet we’ve been about the album and having only released a handful of songs this year. All I can say is that if you guys like us now wait till you hear what we have in store.
