Keep Faith for Haiti video…

When the magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked port au price last month, i had trouble looking at the news. the situation seemed so doomsday and bleak, it was the last thing i wanted to take a closer look at. While i was avoiding the news for several weeks, I started thinking about what i could do to help the situation. I talked to Mikael and we thought that if we made a video with our new single “keep faith” (our collaboration with john debo and vocalist mezo riccio) which showed the many different sides to this disaster while also reminding viewers that donations are still needed, this could be our small contribution to help the millions of people who need a little bit more than faith right now. – Dave Dresden, Dresden & Johnston

There’s been so much about Haiti through all the major media outlets that I don’t think anyone can say they haven’t been effected in some way by this tragedy. Like Dave said, the images and stories were so horrific I had a hard time processing it for the first week or so. However, sometimes when people are so dramatically afflicted without warning by a horrible disaster we the citizens of this planet have to stand and be accounted for. Helping could be as little as giving $1 to a reputable charity, or as much as going to Haiti and risking ones own life to selflessly save the lives of others. In the case of Dave and I we thought that bringing the story and information on how we can all donate a few bucks to a great cause (The American Red Cross) through music and video was the best way we could do something to help. I hope you all will please re-tweet, re-post and forward this video to everyone you know in the hopes that we can make a difference. The last thing I want to say is slightly political so please excuse me for a minute… What Reverend Pat Robertson said in a television interview about the people of Haiti making a pact with the devil in order to free themselves from the French is so shameful it’s beyond words. If there is a devil then Pat Robertson is certainly one of his minions. He is an evil man and it is all the more disturbing that he masquerades as a man of god! Thank you for you time.

Perfect track to reflect upon the tragedy, but to also create hope. I’m so glad you guys elected to dedicate this track towards a better Haiti and a better world. Mikael, you said everything perfectly… donations are still needed and so are VOLUNTEERS! I urge anyone who reads this comment to volunteer some time of their own to go down to Haiti and make a difference in peoples lives. This isn’t about politics its about helping eachother!

AWESOME BEAT! FITS the scenario well. Good to see so many pulling together to help people other countries in need. I am working on a future plan to create a “hope” foundation for AMERICANS as well. Mainly California. HOw do we difine a “MAJOR” catastorphy? Why does it take one of a 7.0 magnitude for someone to pay attention? I ask myself these questions everyday as I pass the homeless veterans on the street and return the next day to feed them with money I DON”T have. To me that is a “CATASTROPHY” all in itself. Many of us have a loved one that has served in the service, is ill and dying or even homeless. This has trickled a domino event of family suffering the same fate due to many factors beyond their control. ECONOMY, INSUFFICIENT or UNAFORDABLE health coverage, LOSS of job, loss of Home. No it didn’t take a earthquake to take it all away granted…but the fact is….it is being done…right now as we speak to millions of americans and there are no FUNDRAISERS being put together by the CELEBRITIES…there is no news coverage(other than saying homeless are a nusence)…well hell…we don’t even have a theme song now do we? So…if my plan goes well…and I do manage to get a foudation up and running for our people….maybe I will get back to you guys on that theme song…if your interested. Keep up the good work…love the rythm, the cause.

I finally decided to send donations for Haiti’s disaster. I encourage that more people send money to those scarred by Haiti’s disaster too.
